Well, I just got back into Los Angeles. I spent 10 days in New York and it sure went by quickly!
Let me bring up the highlights of My New York trip:
Hmm. First of all, I ate Rosh Hashana dinner with my family. Not one night, but two nights! Yes. They are that hardcore. All Jewish holidays are supposed to be celebrated for two nights in America - and only one night in Israel. Why? Well, because according to the Jew law, all the Jews who don't live in Israel have to do twice as much to make up for not living there. It's pretty ridiculous! It's like a tax American Jews have to pay or something. My mom grew up in Israel so she kinda thinks day two of the holiday is pointless, but she also feels guilty for selling out and moving to America so she does celebrate it...and she forces us (me and my sisters) to do it too. For those of you who don't know, Rosh Hashana is the Jewish New Year. Unfortunately, the Jew New Year does not mean Jews go out and get wasted and count down from 10 at midnight and make out with whoever is standing next to them. It means something like a time to try to start fresh, and amend any problems you caused with anyone that year, and do whatever you can do to make some kinda pact with God to have a better year than your last one.
Well anyways OTHER than the Jew stuff...I really love being in New York. I wish it was easier to be a pornographer there so I could be there more often. I got to experience something I don't get to do in LA and that is called "Fall". Fall! You know...the season? Where leaves change...and it's not so hot and not so cold...Fall is pretty rad. I missed it. But yeah. Umm...I got to see a bunch of my old friends from New Jersey one night when I went to go see The Bouncing Souls in Brooklyn. They are like the Beatles of punk rock at this point. I remember when I was younger going to see them play and there were lots of older people there...as well as a lot of people my age (about 15 at the time ) . I see them now (at age 29) and there are still lots of people my age, people older than me and a shitload of younger kids too. Kinda crazy! They represent generations of Punkdom. After the show, a bunch of friends and I went to a bar that an old college roommate of mine worked at. The guy I lost my virginity to was there along with a dude I had a big crush on for years who never liked me back...and another dude I dated in my Pre-Joanna Angel days. We all hung out and had a good time; it's amazing how time just makes everything go back to normal. Had we all been hanging out like 10 years ago, I would have probably spent half the night having panic attacks in the bathroom and had an inner dialog that sounded similar to Angela's from "My-So-Called Life" over analyzing everything anyone said...thinking it meant more than it did. Man...it is SO good to be 29 and not 21. Emotions make so much more sense when you grow up.rnrnWhat else did I do? Went to Comix Comedy Club one night and saw the comedian named Colin Kane. Not because I actually wanted to see Colin Kane but because John Oliver was supposed to be performing...and at the very last moment canceled and was replaced by Colin. I will give him credit; he packed the place out. He was a little too full of himself for my taste and his humor relied mostly on racist and fart jokes...BUT his delivery was good and after his show, he told me he liked my work. That was nice!
I also did a little interview and photo shoot thing for Richardson Magazine. I was shot by the publisher and editor, Andrew Richardson. The Richardson Magazine office was a tiny office in the LES, about the size of my closet in Los Angeles . It was filled with records . Not like files...I mean actual LPs. I wasn't sure why a magazine whose office had a total of like 900 sq feet to store everything had half their space filled with rare Smiths singles but hey - sometimes efficiency is not the key to life. I for one was surely impressed with the record collection so I think the purpose was successful.

Aside from that, I ate a lot of amazing bread products and spent time in my little New York office .
And that was that. Now it is time for me to shoot some more porn in the City of Angels .
